The Inspiration

I'd only been going to free parties for less than a year before I heard Swankie DJ's Free Party Respect Mix(es) and I admired his ability to create an exciting and flawless set... and still do. So I got my first set of 1210s... that was 15 years ago!!! I played at parties for a while and had a few good gigs but I wasn't ready to take it seriously. After royally ruining a gig at the Volks Nightclub I didn't touch any decks for 3/4 years and got myself clean in 2016 and got my first digital set up as a 'reward' ... and turns out I am actually better at mixing than I had been previously with all the rubbish in my system! I don't try to be something I am not, I don't twiddle knobs trying to look busy, and I am not jumping on the decks like Mark EG, but I do love the music and think it's mostly about tune selection and pulling off acceptable transitions with the occasional moment of genius....shout out to Project Storm for providing the memories I refuse to forget. Absolute Legends. Hope you Enjoy my mix. PS I am 7 months pregnant and the baby goes mental when I jump around so I did have to take it easy to some extent!
